Here today gone already
The Storm welcomed back Lyndon Stanwood last week, got him into one game and he was recalled to the BCHL. While we are sad to see him go, it is an excellent opportunity for Lyndon. It also opens a spot for Kamloops native Liam McLeod. Liam had been playing in the BC hockey league with the Nanaimo Clippers. Liam was a Blazer draft pick 4 years ago and spent last season with the Price George Spruce Kings. We were fortunate to be able to get Liam Liam's brother payed for the Storm what was his first name. Be the first to tell me at tomorrow nights game and win a gift card from Home Hardware.

Golden and Invermere trip
It was not the trip the Storm had planned and came away with only a split of their road trip. The Storm had lots of excuses for Golden but excuses are not what the tea was looking for. In Golden the Storm went in shorthanded on defence with Anderson hurt and Schoech suspended but to make matters worse Marc Dumont got into a fight. He did well but with another damn gone it was difficult for the rest of the guys and Golden capitalized on their chances.
Golden we're full marks for the win and the Storm were frustrated. The Storm rebounded on Saturday with a win over the Rockies. Luke Gordon got a hat trick to lead the way. Rasmussen had a pair. Go to www.kijhl.com for details. Nick Landry has been suspended for at least 3 games.
The Storm are off to a great start and currently they have the second most goals in the entire league. Currently they have trail Osoyoos by one goal but have played one less game. Creston has one less goal than the Storm but have played fewer games. The Storm have 7 players currently with a point per game average. Creston have 6.
The Storms balanced scoring has been a pleasant surprise for the coaching staff. This weekend theStorm are in 100 Mile House on Friday then home to Chase on Sunday at 5 pm. Two important divisional games so need a couple of wins. The Storm will play in Sismous the following Wednesday. The Storm are currently leading the division with 16 points 5 ahead of both Chase and 100 Mile.
Come out and catch the action on Sunday at 5. See you at the game

October 10 weekend
The Storm are preparing to leave on their first long road trip of the season. They will meet the Golden Rockets on Friday and the Columbia Valley Rockies on Saturday. The Storm are looking forward to the trip as they want to continue to extend their excellent start.
Addison Bazian will be back in the lineup after a bout with the flu and hopes to get back on track. Jason Anderson won't likely be back this weekend as he awaits further news on an injury he suffered in Princeton. The defence remains a little beat up and the team will need Matt Dimor and Myles Jarvis Rorison to play a lot of minutes to give Wood, Buchanan and Dumont some time to regroup. The Storm continue to have one of the best defences in the league despite being shorthanded.
On Friday we will be Golden in the second and possibly last meeting of the season.
The first meeting with Golden resulted in a suspension to Luke Gordon, and he will miss the rematch as he serves the last game of his 3 game suspension. Luke will have company in the stands as it looks like Spencer Schoech will also miss the next two games due to a suspension. Max James will likely not play due to an injury in practice and Kyle Michalovsky is still on he mend from an injury a couple of weeks ago.

Playing teams in the other conferences are hard to gauge as we have not seen the Rockies in 2 seasons. Despite a manpower shortage the Storm feel confident on a successful weekend.

Vs Revelstoke
A couple of fights. Almost a shutout and a free pizza. Storm won the game scored 5 goals which meant a free pizza from Dominos for everyone at the game. For the second night in a row the Storm were aggressive and worked hard tonight was a different result as the Storm came out on top. Revelstoke is a much improved hockey team but the Storm used their size and speed to post the win.
Stefan Wood had his first weekend of playing and had a great weekend. Look for him to dominate as he gets back into game shape. Ian Chrystal and Nick Landry both had fights and entertained the crowd.

Road Trip
The Storm are preparing for a long road trip. We will leave tomorrow afternoon for Princeton to take on the Posse then travel after the game to overnight in Osoyoos, the original home of the Storm. After Osoyoos it is back home before a late afternoon game in Kelowna.
The Posse have one win one tie and one loss to start the new season. They had a tough night last night against Osoyoos on the road so will be looking for revenge. The Storm will go on the road short of goalie Kyle Michalovky who has been called up to Salmon Arm again, and 16 year old forward Max James will dress for Merritt Centenniala. Marc Dumont and Steindor Iganson are not expected to make the trip due to illness. The Posse will be tough but the boys look like they are ready for the chance to prove they are for real.
Look for a big game from Bobby Kashuba who should feel right at home on the smaller ice surface in Princeton-I am hoping for an even bigger game on Saturday when we return to our old home town and want to show the Coyotes the talent we have. Will try and post updates throughout the weekend.
